Description
A BMW battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your auto.It’s also called an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its primary objective will be to start the BMW engine.
Once the engine is operating, the alternator supplies power for the auto.
Generally, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are made to discharge a high burst of current, measured in amperes, and then be immediately recharged.
They are not designed for deep discharge, along with the battery’s lifespan can be reduced by a full discharge.
