Description
A Ford battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your automobile. It is also called an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its primary purpose would be to start the Ford engine.
Electricity for the car is furnished by the alternator once the engine is operating.
Normally, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are made to release a high burst of current, measured in amperes, and then be immediately recharged.
They’re not designed for deep discharge, plus the battery’s lifespan can be reduced by a total discharge.
