Description
A Ford battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your automobile. It is also called an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its principal objective is to start the Ford engine.
Once the Ford engine is running, power for the car is provided by the alternator.
Generally, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are designed to discharge a high outburst of current, measured in amperes, and then be quickly recharged.
They are not designed for deep discharge, plus a total discharge can reduce the lifespan of the battery.
