Description
A Ford battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your auto. It’s also called an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its main objective will be to start the Ford engine.
Once the Ford engine is running, electricity for the car is provided by the alternator.
Typically, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are made to release a high burst of current, measured in amperes, and then be immediately recharged.
They are not designed for deep discharge, as well as the lifespan of the Ford battery can be reduced by a complete discharge.
