Description
A BMW battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your automobile.It is also known as an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its principal objective is to start the BMW engine.
Once the engine is operating, the alternator supplies electricity for the BMW.
Normally, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are designed to release a high outburst of current, measured in amperes, and then be immediately recharged.
They are not designed for deep discharge, plus a complete discharge can decrease the lifespan of the battery.
