Description
A Ford battery is a rechargeable battery that supplies electrical energy to your auto. It’s also called an SLI battery (abbreviation of starting-lighting-ignition) and its primary goal would be to start the Ford engine.
Once the Ford engine is operating, power for the car is supplied by the alternator.
Usually, starting discharges less than three per cent of the battery capacity. SLI batteries are designed to discharge a high burst of current, measured in amperes, and then be quickly recharged.
They’re not designed for deep discharge, plus the battery’s lifespan can be reduced by a total discharge.
